Thursday – Drive or fly the Adirondack Mountains at your leisure. You choose the flight path or the road. See the Attractions tab for suggestions. I am sure that we will Group up for this but you are free to make your own Iternitary.
This is a day of individual exploration of the Adirondack Mountains. Flying venues are your choice to explore – such as Fort Ticonderoga [4B6] (a significant place in the U.S. War of Independence); Massena [KMSS](which has the Eisenhower Lock and an overview of the importance of the St. Lawerence Seaway); Lake Placid [KLKP] (training ground of the US Winter Olympic Teams and site of several Winter Olympics); Basin Harbor, Vermont [B06] (a restaurant with a grass strip adjacent to Lake Champlain and Greg Wright’s choice); Burlington, Vermont [KBVT] on Lake Champlain or Saranac Lake [KSLK] in the scenic heart of the Adirondacks. Each of these locations is aptly described and detailed in a web search of that place or you can visit the Fly out Destination page under Attractions and use the links there.
In addition, Jeff is thinking about putting together a walking/hiking tour for today that would be interesting.
A farewell COT will be held at the hotel.
Dinner – Hampton Inn, 25 Lakers Lane, Cazenovia, NY,
There are many brew pubs, restaurants, limited menu cafes in the Hamilton-Cazenovia college town area. I suggest you walk the town(s) and make your individual selection. Exploration is the spice of life. If you desire a recommendation, please see Sharon or myself. For instance, if you desire an Alaskan King Crab buffet I would suggest the Brae Loch Inn 5 Albany Street, Cazenovia 13035) or, if you seek a pub atmosphere there is McCarthy’s Irish Pub (64 Albany Street, Cazenovia 13035) and/or 7 Stone Steps (79 Albany Street, Cazenovia) or the Empire Farm Brewery (33 Rippleton Road, Cazenovia); or, if you need a good ice cream fix or Ma & Pa home town cafe there is Suzy Q’s (37 West Main St. Rte. 20, Morrisville)
