AOPA Fly-in Destinations:

With the completion of the AOPA Fly-ins at Battle Creek, MI and Prescott, AZ, we finished this year´s objective of partnering with AOPA, and having the CPS banner at all of them. Kudos to Doug Oakley for coordinating all these Fly-ins, and acting as CPS´s official liaison with AOPA.

This year´s destinations, apart from Battle Creek and Prescott, included Bremerton, WA and Beaufort, NC. They have all been highly successful, both for AOPA and CPS.

 Op Ed:  Are you ready for 2017?

Earlier we mentioned the 2017 AOPA Fly-ins. However, it's time to start talking about The Big Event, otherwise known as the annual get together. Whereas the local fly-ins are lots of fun and allow us to meet those in our region, the annual get together brings members from all over the US and Canada (as well as Venezuela and Haiti) to a single location.

The annual get together allows one of our members to highlight his/her home area, and provide a forum for unsurpassed camaraderie. Over a 3-day period, we get to reinforce old friendships and make new ones, while learning the best secrets of the chosen destination.

It’s time to start thinking about the 2017 destination. Be on the lookout for a thread from the Board on this subject. Hope to see you all at the GTG next year.

Marvel-Schebler/Precision Carburetors:   Troubleshooting manuals and service bulletins for Marvel-Schebler carburetors were available free at the time of this posting. The Forum Board strongly recommends that you consider downloading the documents appropriate to your airplane to your permanent aviation library at your first opportunity.

Cessna Corporate is continuing to offer parts manual downloads for many models on their website. We encourage you to download and safeguard a copy of these vital records so that you’ll always have them available. A thumb-drive kept in the airplane for use during your travels might be a good idea.

"Aircraft manuals previously available without charge on the Cessna/Textron website seem to be MIA. The current link "https://support.cessna.com/custsupt/csupport/newlogin.jsp" dead ends. We are uncertain if this is the result of a change in policy, a broken website, or for some other cause.

We hope this functionality will be restored soon. Your Forum Board will try to keep the links updated with your help. Please help us keep the Membership apprised should you have success in accessing these documents.
